As a watch enthusiast, I can honestly say that one just doesn’t find many yellow watches for women, which is what makes this watch all the more appealing. I would like to mention how pleased I am with the St. Moritz company for having the notion to make dive watches for women in as many colors as the watches they make for men. Well done.

As for the watch, it’s fairly standard. It has a timing bezel and date function, as well as very bright glow in the dark hands. I should mention that I don’t scuba dive, so I have never tested the function of the watch at any considerable depth. I do snorkel, however, and so far the watch and the band have stood up well to salt water.

Overall this is an attractive time piece. I recommend it for any outdoorsy sort of woman (or child, as another reviewer mentioned that he bought this for his son–I would have loved this when I was a kid) who can appreciate its eye-catching appearance.

I purchased the Activa Midsize Two-Tone Multi-function Digital Watch #AD046-002 in the autumn my kid for Christmas. When he opened it was not functioning. I returned the watch and paid the $10 for repair of the watch as per the instructions. Activia cashed my check but never returned my watch. The telephone number that I was provided was disconnected and the email that I sent was never returned. I would not recommend this watch company.

Top Yellow Watch Styles

February 1st, 2010

As watches go, yellow watches have some of the best and most diverse styles available. If your style is sporty and athletic, or if your style is more causal and conservative, or even if your style is glamorous and dramatic, you should have no trouble finding a yellow watch that perfectly suits your practical needs (and also fits your personal style).

Let’s look a bit further into each of those styles mentioned above. First, sporty yellow watches. These are probably the most common, most popular yellow watch style. Yellow is a great color for athletics, sports, and anything active. It is easy to see, hard to lose in a bag, and is in general an invigorating, energizing color, making it perfect to wear both on the field (or court, or track) and off.

Athletic yellow watches often come with rubber or high quality plastic watchbands, which are durable yet sweat and tear resistant. These bands are generally a bit wider than the bands of more formal watches, to keep them securely on the wrist and to avoid pinching if you move your wrist and arm around.

Many of these watches are offset with yellow or black watch faces, for an edgy (yet easy to read) look. They frequently have features that an athlete will use, from a stopwatch or pedometer watch function to even GPS and heart rate monitoring, and many other additions.

Casual, or every day yellow watches are the second most common. With these, you are more likely to find a watchband made of metal or leather. However, the style of the watch is often still sports-inspired, but it will not have as many functions or be as durable, as it’s not usually made for use during intense athletic activity.

Finally, the yellow fashion watch. Commonly, but not exclusively, a watch for women, the yellow fashion watch is made of higher quality materials and is designed in a decidedly non-athletic way. Many will have gold plating and details, diamond or Swarovski Crystal insets, and high end leather (or even silver or gold) for the watch band.

With so many different styles, and many different variations within each style, it should be no trouble to find a yellow watch that’s perfectly suited to your needs.

Functions Of An Athletic Yellow Watch

December 22nd, 2009

Yellow watch styles abound, but some of the most popular and well-styled yellow watches are specifically made to be worn during sports and other athletic activity. From biking and running to even swimming, yellow sports watches come with all variety of features that make them perfect for that active person on the go. You can even get yellow ion watches. Here are some of the components and features that set yellow athletic watches apart from other watches.

  • Rubber yellow watchbands. The rubber watchband is one of the simplest, yet most essential, elements of an athletic watch. The rubber watchband is well suited to physical activity for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is flexible. It won’t pinch skin or hair, no matter how you move your wrist about. Secondly, it’s non absorbent; it will neither absorb sweat or become stained or discolored by it.
  • Watch face. The face of a yellow watch will look different depending on how it’s intended to be used. Yellow athletic watches must be particularly easy to read. If digital, it will have considerably large, clear digital numbers. If analog, the numbers and hands should be bold and very visible, and you’ll want to make sure it has a clear second hand, as well.
  • Stopwatch. A stopwatch is a feature you should definitely look for on a yellow watch intended for athletic use. Runners, swimmers, and bikers often need to specifically time short (and long) activities, so a built-in stop watch is essential for an athletic watch.
  • Additional features and functions. Here is where sports-specific yellow watches are particularly useful. Really good watches have a lot of features that can help enhance your workout in a number of ways. For example, if you swim, buy a water-proof (including submersion) watch so you can time your laps yourself. If you run or bike, you can get a yellow GPS running watch that will track how far, and how fast, you go on whatever route you choose to take. You can even find a yellow watch with a heart-rate monitor that feeds information to the watch, which can be easily downloaded and mapped out once you get home. Also, don’t forget about yellow watch phones.

From wristband to internal computer, a good yellow watch can offer much to enhance your exercise routine.

Leading Yellow Watch Brands

November 12th, 2009

If you want to buy a yellow watch, it may be helpful to know which brands are best known for what you’re looking for. When it comes down to it, you should base your buying decision on the watch itself. However, if you want to limit your search to brands with a certain type of reputation, then it’s good to know which yellow watch brands are most popular, and why.

Overall Yellow Watch Brands

Some of the brands with the most popular yellow watches, it should come as no surprise, are some of the most popular brands of watches overall. These include names like Fossil, Timex, Swatch, Activa, and even Adidas (for more athletic watches). In these cases, all of these brands manufacture yellow watches (some athletic, some more casual), often in a range of prices.

Men’s Yellow Watches

For men’s watches in particular, you will find especially popular models by some of those same brands, and a few new names. Fossil is still a top runner, as is Timex, but more fashionable names like Rolex, Tommy Bahama, Ebel, Invicta, and Tag Heuer are now in the picture.

Women’s Yellow Watch Brands

For women’s watches, some of the most popular, in yellow, are made by Casio and Activa. Ebel, Pulsar, Concord, and Rotary also have some popular models. And on the most expensive end of the scale, there are yellow women’s watches by Bvlgari and Cartier available for over $10,000 (not the most popular, for obvious reasons, but nonetheless impressive).

Sport Watches

Yellow sport watches are more durable and often have features and functions made for practical use over visual appearance, so some of the brands here really change. One of the most popular models is by Chase-Durer. Another is by Smith & Wesson. Timex, Suunto Vector, Casio, and Adidas also make pretty popular yellow watches designed with more active wear in mind.

Regardless of the brand you choose, make sure that it’s not just the manufacturer that’s driving your purchasing decision. Watches come in so many shapes, sizes, materials, price ranges, and purposes that it should be little trouble to find the perfect yellow watch for you.

How to Choose a Yellow Watch

October 4th, 2009

If you are in the market for a yellow watch, you’ve already narrowed down your choices, simply by focusing in on the color yellow. While not long ago, almost all watches would be in monotone silver, gold, or black, you now have a whole world of different yellow watches to choose from. Knowing the color does narrow the field, but there are still many, many options ahead of you. The following questions will help you guide yourself through the decision of which yellow watch is right for your particular purposes.

  • How will this yellow watch be used? Did you choose yellow because it’s your favorite color, and you want a trendy watch to match or accent some of your best outfits? Or are you looking for a yellow watch to wear while you go running, biking, or doing some other intensive exercise? Should it be elegant, sporty, or more “every day” in its style? You can get just about any kind of yellow. Do you make lots of phone calls? If so, you can even get yellow watch phones. Knowing what you’re looking for will narrow you down to specific styles and even specific materials.
  • What materials do you want? For example, if you’re going to use the watch to time yourself running, you’ll want a watch whose case is made of quality, durable rubber and plastics, with a Plexiglas face. These are all durable, water-resistant, and lightweight. A leather band with a glass face may be more appropriate for everyday use. And a stainless steel band with crystals or gold, or some other high end detailing, is best for upscale occasions and high-end, professional outfits.
  • What’s your price range? Yellow watches run anywhere from $6 (very cheap plastic) to $18,000 (with gold and diamonds). For most people, a happy medium is somewhere in the $20-$60 range, and there are plenty of good yellow watches (both athletic and casual) in this price range.
  • Do you have a preferred brand? If you have a loyalty to a brand, this can help give a focal point to your yellow watch search. Many of the top brands in timepieces (including Fossil, Nixon, Timex, Casio, and others) have more than one yellow watch in their selection, so it should be no trouble getting the right watch from a brand you prefer.

Gift Idea: The Perfect Yellow Watch

September 27th, 2009

If you are looking for the perfect gift for someone you love, a yellow watch is something to consider. Of course, if someone dislikes wearing watches, or hates the color yellow, you’d best put your effort elsewhere. But for many people, with many different interests, a yellow watch is a great gift. Here’s a look at the different styles of yellow watch, and who might be a good recipient for each.

  • Sports watches. Some of the most popular yellow watches are designed for athletes. The color of bright yellow is an energizing color, and is also easy to see (and therefore hard to lose in a gym bag or accidentally leave in a locker room). Yellow sports watches have rubber watchbands, durable watch faces, and often come equipped with a variety of alternate functions, depending on what the athlete will use. These include everything from stopwatches and waterproof construction to heart rate monitoring and watch phones. A yellow sports watch is, of course, best for an athletic person who has need for keeping track of time (or balancing ions in your body with an ion watch) while they’re exercising.
  • Designer watches. Quite the opposite of a sports watch, a yellow fashion watch has very different strengths and highlights. There are some really good looking (and in some cases, really expensive) yellow watches out there, designed specifically for those who are fashion-minded. This type of watch will often have a stainless steel watchband (or some other metallic band), a clear glass face cover over a tasteful yellow watch face, and a smooth, sleek design free of clutter and buttons. It may also have crystals, diamonds, gold, or other high-end detailing. A fashionable yellow watch is great for any adult who likes to look good, and have accessories that do so as well.
  • Everyday watches. Some yellow watches are in between the aforementioned two styles. They are much more elegant and stylish than a sports watch, but also more durable (and often, more affordable) than designer watches. An every day yellow watch will often have a leather or cloth wristband, a simple silver or gold body, glass (or strong plastic) cover, and simple leather watch face. These are good for someone who would like a yellow watch in both work and casual situations and often have interchangeable bands to be adjusted for different occasions or outfits.
